There's an essay I've never written about the relationship between superheroes in American Comics and costumed performers in American Circuses of the same period, and how the comics characters were the circus performers, and I will probably never get around to writing it. But then I see photos like this and wish I'd written it 30 years ago.

Sewing bi colored Filipiniana/terno/butterfly sleeves! This project was something of a personal treat to myself after turning my first round of revisions into my editor for Saints of Storm and Sorrow my Filipino epic fantasy, I really wanted to have something fun and bi and Filipino for author events and book promo type stuff. I'm also working on a version that's book themed 🦪⛈️🇵🇭

Lil stamp sequence

1. Sketch

2. Better sketch

3. Cut out & outline & fiddly bits (using very small blade)

4. Deeper carving with bigger blade, cut out more

5. Stamp test and tweaks

6. Basically good enough (lie. i tweaked at least two details after this photo)
